SECURITY FORCES FOILS NAXAL ATTACK ON CONGRESS LEADERS

CHHATTISGARH TIMES. In what could have been yet another gruesome maoist attack on congressmen, promptness on part of security forces foiled the bid of the maoists who laid an attempted ambush on congressmen in the Dantewada region of naxal hit part of the state. Supporters of
congress nominee Devti Karma for the Dantewada constituency which even included her son Chavindra Karma were the main targets of the guerrillas. It may be noted that Devti is the wife of the slain Congress leader Mahendra Karma who was killed in the Darbha valley massacre of 2013.
The road opening party of security forces 2 kilometres ahead were suddenly caught off guard when intermittent firing started but the jawans were quick to react and opened fire, the maoist could not match the bitter force of the security forces and retreated back. According to police sources jawans and congressmen are both safe.
