Smita Misra receives “Best Counsellor” award

Raipur: Smita Misra, working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist with some of the prominent Schools in Raipur, has been awarded ‘Best Counsellor’ award at Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) National Teachers Award 2017-2018 in an annual award ceremony held at New Delhi on September 6.
She has been given the award for her remarkable work in the field of counselling. This a unique achievement for her as she is the first and the only counsellor among other achievers to receive the national award this year.
Smita said that “I feel very nice and proud that I have been recognized for the work I have been doing for a very long time. Now I will be able to reach out to more people and children and help them through counselling.”
She has been working with teachers, parents, and students for last 18 years providing them with proper guidance, training, and counselling. As a dedicated counsellor and psychotherapist, her focus has been to emphasize the concept of positive reinforcement of self and others with a goal of assisting individuals to take responsibility for their lives in a way that is empowering.
Smita said that she has conducted various workshops to train, empower and sensitize teachers and parents on various emotional, social and mental issues faced by the children across age groups.
Her aim is to reach out to as many people as possible to help them excel in their lives and realize their true potential. She wants to reach out as many children as she can and help them to deal with depression, anxiety, suicides and most importantly help them develop their emotional intelligence.
