Chhattisgarh Times Delhi:The Supreme Court has released the legal regulations for the Burning Crackers During Diwali. Double bench of Justice A K Sikari and Justice Ashok Bhushan had reserved their verdict on this issue on August 28. Apart from the petitioners, the court had to go in favour of NGOs, including the Patna trader, Central Pollution Control Board. During the hearing, the Bench stated that there was a need for reconciliation of rights and business of health.
According to the Supreme Court decision, people can burn firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali, from 8 PM to 10 PM. On Christmas fireworks can burst from the binging of New Year’s Eve at 11.45 PM to 12.15pm. Apart from this, no seller can sell online crackers.
Diwali, widely known as the ‘festival of lights’ is around the corner and is one of the most celebrated festivals in India. A weeklong affair where families come together to celebrate this festival and burning crackers has often been the highlight of this occasion. We as Indian citizens must be aware of certain rights and duties which are attached to these celebrations and must be adhered to at all times, not just for the benefit of the society as a whole, but for our own well-being as well
